Silchar, 16 August: For the first time in the Barak Valley, the private Covid medical service has started. The official announcement was made by Rudra Narayan Gupta, the head of Green Hills Hospital. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Rudra Narayan further said that the decision was taken keeping in view the social responsibility. This has been dedicated in the name of the late doctor Dr. Rahul Gupta. The purpose behind setting up ‘Dr. Rahul Gupta Covid Health Care Center’ is to provide services to patients in case of emergency. It will be possible to treat all these patients immediately by setting up a private Covid Care Center in Green Hills. Initially, 12 bed covid care centre was opened. There is no such thing as a general bed here, everything is SDU i.e. ICU equivalent.
Four doctors and 12 medical staff are looking after the patients. Arrangements have also been done to consult with outside doctors through video conferencing from time to time. The cost of treatment will be 4 to 10 thousand rupees per day. Plasma therapy will also is be given if plasma is available in Silchar Medical College.
Rudra Narayan Gupta further said that the treatment will be arranged in accordance with the official Covid protocol. The district administration and the district health department are cooperating fully in this regard. Mridul Majumder, president of the private hospital company Assam (Angia), said that every private hospital under the organization has full support to run the center. Today’s press conference was attended by, among others, Dr. Ranjan Singh, Arijit Das, Nityananda Roy and many others.
