Cachar police today achieved a big success by busting a gang of counterfeit note dealers. Police arrested two persons with five and a half lakh counterfeit notes. The operation was carried out on the basis of tip off from Peshkar Jangal of Sonai Road around 1.30 pm on Thursday. The operation was carried out with the help of DSP (Headquarters) Bhaargab Goswami and Rangirkhari police. They are Sarimuk Haque and Iqbal Hussain. Iqbal is from Masimpur and Sarimu is from Jiribam. Both are carpenters by profession. According to police sources, the two youths were standing in the jungle with big bags full of fake notes. The police are now interrogating the duo.
