Devotees aggrieved at the mismanagement of Latasil Lord Ganesha Temple

Latasil Ganesh Mandir is a historical temple situated at Latasil, Guwahati which is a landmark place of worship for the devotees of Lord Ganesha. However the mismanagement of the temple in recent time has aggrieved the devotees who frequent the temple for performing puja. This is a universal Hindu temple without any discrimination on the basis of castes. It is alleged that the temple management committee serves the rich non indigenous people who offers fat donations ignoring the local devotees. The devotees also alleged that during the lock down period the management kept themselves busy serving the privileged class and the local people had to stand for hours in queue to get the Bhoga without even maintaining the mandatory social distance norm. Many devotees had to return home empty handed even though they had offered the donations as the temple management committee said that the Prasada were exhausted. The local devotees urged the district administration to look into the problem of the devotees and to streamline the temple management committee so that people of all classes can offer puja at the temple.
