Journalists protest demanding the arrest of the attackers.
Silchar, 1 December: Journalists and journalists of the district staged demonstration in front of the office of the police superintendent on Tuesday at the initiative of Silchar Press Club and Barak Valley e-Media Association. The journalists demanded that the attackers be arrested within 24 hours. At 11:30 in the morning, a procession of more than a hundred journalists came out from in front of the office of the Press Club. The procession passed through Central Road in front of the State Bank.
Additional Superintendent of Police Jagadish Das reached the spot and said that appropriate action would be taken. Katigara police station in-charge Nayanmoni Sinha said he would convey the allegations to the higher authorities.
Veteran journalists Tamojit Bhattacharya, Riten Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Som, Dilip Kumar, Rafiul Alam Rintu, Rajib Majumder, Abdus Salam and others joined the procession.
