Around 1.5 crore worth of illegal phensedyl , a cough syrup abused as intoxicating drugs have been recovered from Rani Sati Flour mill under Arundhuti Nagar PS. Acting on a secret tip off , the officials of West PS have raided the mill on Monday morning.
The syrup bottles were packed and stacked for delivering to other places. 33000 bottles of alcohol were also recovered. Manik Das, SP of West, present at the spot informed that the mill was sealed from sunday night only.
Owner of the mill Santosh Jalal and his son were arrested and investigation is on.
According to the SP, the drugs have reached the godown through churaibari checkpost and on national highway.Earlier also the same godown was involved in drug dealing. The recovered drugs was scheduled to be delivered to Bishalgarh. On investigation name of a drug dealer Biplab Debnath involved in the case has been revealed.
According to officials record amount of illegal drugs has been recovered from west district this year.
