Guwahati, 5th October, 2020:
An RPF team from Guwahati under the leadership of Sub Inspector Madhab Ekka raided train no 05909 Down Avadh Assam Exp from Guwahati to Barpeta Road station on 2nd October.
During the raid they apprehended 4 persons -Padma Saha, 46 yrs, w/o Sri Ashish Saha, Vill: Adipukur Parh, Bolpur, PS: Bolpur, Dist. Birnhum, West Bengal, (ii) Sandhya Das, 31 yrs, w/o Sri Subhash Das, vill: Daspara, Adityapur, Majdia, PS: Krishanganj, Dist. Nadia, West Bengal, (iii) Md. Ansarul Alom, 42 yrs, s/o Hiyas Ali, vill: House No. 48, New Colony, Baniyahir, Dhanbad, PS: Jharia, Dist. Dhanbad, Jharkhand & (iv) Prabir Sarkar, 37 yrs, s/o Sri Ananda Sarkar, vill: Rangapur, Ramkrishna Pally, Duttapur, PS: Rangapur, Dist. North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal from berth no. 25,26,32,34 of A-1coach of train.
The RPF team seized 13 pieces of Gold bars weighing about 02.15 kgs rom their possession, which were kept concealed in shoes, bags and waist bands. Later, the apprehended persons were taken into custody by DRI/Guwahati for necessary action.
