Silchar: 31 July: Cachar police yesterday confiscated 800 cartoons of foreign liquor at Jirighat check gate. The liquor cartoons were loaded in the truck bearing regd no-As-01-Q-6933. The truck was coming from Guwahati and heading for Manipur. The liquor cartoons were concealed under medicine The driver could not produce any document for the consignment. He only has produced a medicine challan and a copy of E-WAY bill generated by Deepaak kr Jain for truck no-MN-01-8427. Two persons were apprehended in this connection including the driver of the truck by the police.
Jirighat police incharge Pranab Kumar Deka said that the value of the confiscated liquor would be several lakhs.
