A six Member delegations from Bangladesh came through ICP Agartala to India today where they were given a very warm reception.
The Bangladesh delegation is headed by Khondoker Farid Hassan, BGBM, PBGM (BAR), ndc, Additional Director General, Region Commander, South-East Region, Chattogram and comprises of officers from Border Guard Bangladesh, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs Bangladesh. The Bangladesh delegation has been declared as ‘State Guest’ by Govt of Tripura.
The Indian delegation is headed by Sh. Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Tripura Frontier accompanied by Sh Sunil Kumar, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier, Shri Hardeep Singh, Inspector General, BSF Meghalaya Frontier and other senior BSF officers.
India and Bangladesh share a common history, culture and social links besides sharing 4096 Kms long International border.
The relations between the two countries are very amicable and friendly. Similarly, both the border guarding forces BSF & BGB shares a very cordial relationship at both professional and human level.
This conference would further strengthen the ties by addressing various border issues of bilateral interests like trans-border crimes including smuggling of contraband items, pending developmental works, construction of Single Row Fence along Indo-Bangladesh International Boundary and Co-ordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP).
It may be noted that last such co-ordination conference was held in Tripura Frontier, Agartala in the year 2018.
