ITANAGAR, Aug 25: The All Nyishi Youth Association(ANYA) on Tuesday deferred its proposed 36 hours capital bandh on 27-28 August 2020 stating that the government has fulfilled its charter of demands.
The decision to defer its proposed bandh came after ANYA and Nyishi Elite Society(NES) members met Chief Minister Pema Khandu in his office here at Civil Secretariat. It is learnt that Chief Minister Khandu had invited ANYA and NES on Monday for discussion over the issue which was also attended by three council of ministers from the community.
In a joint press conference with the NES, ANYA President Byabang Joram stated, “ The state government has fulfilled our charter of demands giving with authentic documents, that’s why we have decided to defer our proposed 36 hours bandh on 27-28th August”.
Joram stated that government has furnished copies of their white paper financial status demand including expenditure of Covid. On off spring demand a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of health minister Alo Libang.
“ On APSSB job scam the enquiry and action taken part is at almost over and the recovery of amount from Trans-Arunachal Highway Compensation scam is almost done “ said Byabang Joram informing the government has fulfilled their demands. Joram also added the demands of district wise job recruitment under APSSB and GeM procurement are also fulfilled and the cabinet has approved work order system of Rs 50 lakhs.
“Since the government has fulfilled our charter of demand we decided to defer our 36 hours bandh on 27-28 August” said Joram. He refuted the allegation that ANYA team has monetary deal with the government. He thanked the people for supporting ANYA on its cause.
In his address NES president Bengia Tolum stated that bandh was decided to defer as there were reports of unscrupulous and anti-social elements trying to hijack the ANYA’ bandh call to create law and order situation in the capital.
