Guwahati: August 16, 2025: The Frontier Headquarters of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Guwahati marked the 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, with immense enthusiasm, commemorating nearly eight decades of India’s freedom, progress, and unity.The celebrations were led by Shri Sudhir Verma, Inspector General, who hoisted the National Flag and offered a salute, honoring the occasion with great reverence. Addressing the gathering, he extended greetings to the force personnel and their families while paying heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He also conveyed the message of the Director General, SSB, emphasizing the significance of the day.In his address, Inspector General Verma highlighted the importance of Independence Day, underscoring the responsibility of SSB personnel in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. “As members of Sashastra Seema Bal, our duty is paramount in guarding the 1,751 km Indo-Nepal border and 699 km Indo-Bhutan border with utmost alertness, dedication, and a spirit of brotherhood to uphold the unity of our country,” he stated.The event was graced by Smt. Rani Anuradha, Regional President of Sandiksha, along with other Sandiksha members, who participated with great zeal, motivating the force personnel and their children. The presence of Shri Neeraj Chand, Deputy Inspector General (Operations), Shri Arvind Verma, Commandant (Administration), along with officers, jawans, and children, added to the fervor of the occasion.The celebration was a vibrant display of patriotism, unity, and commitment to the nation, reflecting the SSB’s unwavering dedication to protecting India’s borders and fostering national pride.
