Covid -19 cases in Tripura are spreading alarmingly across communities.

Agartala, August 31

The percentage of COVID-19 positive cases in Tripura have reached more than 10% of total population with more that 10,000 cases in a total population of nearly 40 lakhs in the state.

Moreover the pandemic has also claimed above 100 lives in Tripura.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has informed that the govt will undertake more stern measures if needed to control the situation which may include increasing number of containment zones.

Despite of completing house to house surveillance, there is an environment of fear is overshadowing the state. Earlier state govt had issued a lockdown for a period to halt the spread. Again the demand foranother lockdown is echoing among the citizens.

The sudden spike in cases is mostly due to unregulated gatherings in markets without maintaining social distance , not wearing masksand not abiding by regulations laid by health dept.

Doctors, m health workers, reporters, law enforcers and people from all other occupations including 4 MLAs have so far been infected in the state.
