588 persons were detected corona positive yesterday out of 4617 samples tested in Tripura.This is the highest single day spike in the state. West district recorded highest number of cases with a count of 238.
To control the situation Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has held meeting with doctors at GBPH the main Covid Care hospital in the state.
Many people are now demanding another lockdown to contain the pandemic.
They say that sudden spike in cases is mostly due to gatherings in markets, not wearing masks, not abiding by regulations laid by health dept.
