Guwahati, February 7, 2026: The spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie took centre stage as the 2nd All India Police T-20 Cricket Tournament (Eastern Zone) 2025–26 officially commenced today at the N.F. Railway Stadium in Maligaon. Assigned to the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Frontier Guwahati for organization, the tournament promises high-octane cricketing action among the elite forces of the region.
The event was grandly inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri B.K. Pal, Inspector General (IG), SSB. The ceremony saw the presence of senior officers from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), local administration officials, and members of the media.

Vision Behind the Tournament
In his inaugural address, Shri B.K. Pal emphasized that the tournament is more than just a sporting event. “The objective of this tournament is to foster enthusiasm for cricket among Force personnel, identify new talent, and strengthen the team spirit within our Forces,” the IG stated.
Shri H.B.K. Singh, DIG (Admn), Frontier HQ Guwahati, expressed his gratitude to Shri Sudhir Verma, IG, Frontier Guwahati, for his continuous guidance and support in making the event possible. He also extended his thanks to the Railways for providing the venue and cooperation.
The Road to the Finals
The tournament is being organized across four zones—North, South, East, and West—to ensure nationwide participation. The Eastern Zone matches will conclude with a grand finale and closing ceremony on February 12, 2026.
The winning teams from all four zones will then head to the national capital. The final inter-zone showdown is scheduled to take place in Delhi on March 7–8, 2026, which will be hosted by the Delhi Police.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including DIG Shri Rajiv Rana, Shri Neeraj Chand, and Commandants of various units, marking a successful start to one of the most anticipated sporting events in the police calendar.
