Two Congress Councillors of tripura joined Bharatiya Janata Party today leaving Century old Congress Party a mere signboard in the state.
Today Bharatiya Janata Party State president Dr Manik Saha MP Pratima Bhowmik and Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath welcomed the congress councillors Ratna Datta and Sampa Chowdhury.

Absence of the two congress members during the unveiling of statue of Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary yesterday at Congress Bhawan, Agartala raised suspicion. Congress in the state will feel more cornered with this breakdown.
Dr Manik Saha said the responsibility of the party has increased with the entry of two new members.
