28th death anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Rani Gaidinlu was observed in her birth place Luanbkao village of Tousem Sub Division of Tamenglong district, Manipur on 17 th February, 2021. The function was organised by the Village Authority Chairman Council ( NH 37 / TSM) , Rangmei Naga Council . Manipur, Heraka Association and Rani Gaidinlu Foundation.
The Chief Guest of the function Mr Armstrong Pame, Deputy commissioner, Tamenglong district said that if Rani Gaidinlu can emerge as a national leader during Independence strugge from such a remote area why should we not emulate her now. The meeting was attended by Smt Florence Dangmei, Chief Medical Officer, Commandment 87th battelion CRPF as special guest of honour and Shri TK Lal Zou 2nd in Command 87th battelion CRPF as guest of honour. Geetartha Pathak , President of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) partipating in the meeting as guest of honour said that the land of Rani Gaidinlu who fought for justice against the British has not got justice in term of development even after 73 years of independence. He also lamented that the government has neglected the tomb of the legendary freedom fighter . He urged the government to develop the tomb as a place of tourist attractions and place of pilgrimage for the patriotic people of the country. The meeting was chaired Ramkung Pamei , the President of Rongmei Naga Council Manipur.
