Guwahati, October 21, 2025:
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Frontier Headquarters Guwahati solemnly observed Police Commemoration Day at its headquarters premises on Tuesday, paying rich tributes to the police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

On the occasion, Shri Sudhir Verma, Inspector General, Frontier Guwahati, laid a floral wreath at the memorial to honour the 191 brave personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and State Police who lost their lives in the service of the nation between September 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025.

The Police Commemoration Day is observed every year on October 21 to pay homage to the gallant police personnel who laid down their lives while upholding the sovereignty, integrity, and internal security of the country.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Verma emphasized the significance of remembering the sacrifices of the police and paramilitary forces, who perform their duties in challenging conditions to ensure peace and security across the nation. He urged everyone to draw inspiration from their dedication and unwavering sense of duty.

The solemn ceremony was attended by Shri H.B.K. Singh, Deputy Inspector General (Administration), Shri Arvind Verma, Commandant (Administration), along with all officers and personnel of the Frontier Headquarters. The participants observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the martyrs.

The event concluded with expressions of solidarity and commitment towards carrying forward the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
