Guwahati, February 13, 2026: The 2nd All India Police T-20 Cricket Tournament (Eastern Zone) 2025–26 came to an exciting close on February 12, 2026, at the N.F. Railway Maligaon Stadium in Guwahati, with the West Bengal Police team lifting the trophy as champions.Organized by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Frontier Guwahati, the tournament ran from February 7 to February 12, 2026, showcasing thrilling T-20 matches among elite police forces. Participating teams included Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Intelligence Bureau, Assam Police, Manipur Police, and West Bengal Police.In a keenly contested final, West Bengal Police emerged victorious to claim the championship title, while the host team, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), secured the runner-up position after a commendable performance throughout the event.Both the champion and runner-up teams have now qualified to represent the Eastern Zone in the upcoming national-level matches scheduled in Delhi from March 7 to 8, 2026.The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Shri Sudhir Verma, Inspector General, Frontier Guwahati, who felicitated the winning and runner-up teams with trophies and medals. In his address, IG Verma congratulated the champions and lauded all participants, team managers, players, and support staff for their outstanding display of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, discipline, and teamwork.Expressing his appreciation, Shri Verma also thanked the organizing committee, local administration, N.F. Railway authorities, and media personnel for their unwavering support, which contributed significantly to the tournament’s success.The event was attended by dignitaries including Dr. Shankarjyoti Basumatary (Dean, LNIPE), Deputy Inspectors General Shri H.B.K. Singh, Shri Neeraj Chand, Shri Sudipta Das, senior officers from Central Armed Police Forces, local administration representatives, SSB officials, personnel, and members of the media.The tournament not only fostered competitive spirit but also strengthened camaraderie and unity among the participating police forces from the Eastern region.
