Supporters of ruling BJP and opposition CPI(M) clashed on the road today while CPI(M) organized a March protesting against failure of the BJP government at the centre.
Former Chief Minister of Tripura and present leader of the opposition Manik Sarkar led the march with supporters today. Sarkar was later arrested by Police.He voluntarily submitted to the police. However his supporters protested at the unprovoked arrest of the Sarkar
BJP criticised the protests and blamed CPIM party for inciting violence.
Manik sarkar criticised the central govt for it’s failure in all fronts. He said that the number of Covid cases are increasing rapidly, prices of goods are soaring high and unemployment is rising in the country. He said the country had lost democratic environment. He asked the centre to learn lessons from China and North Korea in fighting the pandemic. He also advocated for a united opposition front to stop BJP.
At least 20 people from both the sides received injury in today’s clash.
