Guwahati, March 9: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) organised a blood donation camp at its Frontier Headquarters in Guwahati on Sunday in collaboration with the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
The camp was held in the presence of Sudhir Verma, Inspector General of SSB Frontier Guwahati. To motivate the personnel, the IG himself donated blood and described blood donation as a noble act that can help save precious lives.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr Mamta Agarwal, Deputy Inspector General (Medical), Frontier Headquarters Guwahati, along with Dr Arunima Goswami and a medical team from GMCH.
A total of 43 units of blood were donated by SSB personnel during the camp. Senior officers, including H.B.K. Singh, DIG (Administration), along with other officers and personnel of the force, actively participated in the initiative.
The camp aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation and contribute to the blood supply for patients in need.
